No! Electrolysis is for EVERYONE and any skin type and color. There are many different reasons people want electrolysis; medical conditions that cause excessive hair growth, ingrown hairs, prep for gender re-assignment surgery and people who just want to be hair-free.
You will feel slight discomfort however with our "state of the art" equipment and advanced training it will not hurt.
The number of treatments depends on the individual and the area of the body being treated. We need to take into consideration hair growth cycles, the density of the hair, hormone function, medications and your own time restraints. During our consultation we will come up with the perfect plan for YOU.
We can remove your unwanted hair from anywhere on your body except the inside of the ears and nose. The most common areas are anywhere on the face, hairline, throat, neck, back, breasts, underarms, bikini, abdomen, feet and toes. We cannot treat moles or raised spots without a doctor's note.
If you have sensitive skin, traditional hair removal methods such as waxing and shaving are probably causing you irritation. With electrolysis you won't have to worry about removing the top layer of the skin or shaver's rash as you do with waxing and shaving.
Electrolysis is safe for most people however there are some medical conditions that are contraindicated. We will discuss your medical history during the FREE consultation. Please reach out to Melissa if you have any questions you want answered beforehand.
With a skillful insertion, the probe does not pierce the skin however everyone is different. If you follow our aftercare program, electrolysis will not cause any of these however occasionally scabs form to protect the skin. If this happens, DO NOT pick the scab. Some skin types are more prone to getting temporary marks. Please call us if you are concerned.
Yes! Healthy hairs grow straight out of the follicle. If dead skin, oil or even a small scar blocks the follicle, an ingrown hair will develop. Ingrown hairs mostly occur when hair is waxed or plucked. The best thing to do to get rid of the ingrown hair is to get rid of the follicle which is what electrolysis does.
You may shave or dermaplane ONLY. Please DO NOT PLUCK, wax or thread. These methods promote more hair growth.
Make sure you are hydrated and avoid caffeine a few hours before your treatment.
For electrolysis, please stop all temporary removal methods 3 days prior to appointment. For laser/IPL, please shave the area the night before your appointment.
No. Payment is due at the time of treatment. If you are interested in a package please ask Melissa before your 1st treatment.
